Rooftop Solar for Warehouses and Cold Storage.
A warehouse roof is one of the best places in Ontario for solar. We develop, build and operate the system with our own crews, while your trucks keep moving.
Why It Fits
Why Warehouses Suit Solar
Large, flat roofs
A warehouse roof has the open area a commercial system needs, without trees or tall neighbours in the way.
Daytime load
Lights, conveyors, chargers and dock doors run during the day, when the panels produce. The building uses the power it makes.
Refrigeration on sunny days
Cold storage and food plants run their refrigeration hardest on hot, sunny days, which is when a rooftop system produces the most.
Incentives built for this
The Save on Energy incentive pays for rooftop systems that run for load displacement, which is how a warehouse uses solar. Add the federal tax credit, and about 65% of a typical system's cost is covered.

1.25 MW Rooftop Repowering for a Food Packaging Business
A ten-year-old rooftop array at a working food packaging plant in Mississauga had reached the end of its useful life. Tero Power crews removed the legacy 569 kW system and built a new 1.25 MW DC system on the same roof, more than twice the capacity: four arrays across two roof levels on ballasted racking, four new inverters, and new AC infrastructure, all while the plant kept running.
- New system, DC
- 1.25 MW
- AC capacity
- 500 kW

Your Roof
What We Check Before We Build
- 01A structural review of the roof by a professional engineer, and a P.Eng.-stamped design.
- 02Ballasted or mechanically attached racking, chosen for the roof's load capacity.
- 03The installation method agreed with your roofing manufacturer before construction, so the roof warranty stays intact.
- 04Crane and lift days planned around your shipping and receiving schedule.

Pre-Feasibility
Your utility data and roof documents become an indicative proposal, typically within one week, at our cost.
Feasibility & Firm Proposal
Site visits and full feasibility on selected sites lead to a firm proposal.
Questions
Can you build while the warehouse keeps running?
Yes. Facilities keep operating while our crews work. We plan crane and lift days around your shipping and receiving, and we keep the work areas apart from your operations.
Will solar void my roof warranty?
Not when the installation method is agreed with the roofing manufacturer first. We do that before construction, so the roof warranty stays intact.
Can my roof carry the weight?
A professional engineer checks the roof structure before we design the system. The racking type follows that review, and the design is P.Eng.-stamped.
How long does construction take?
Build, inspection and commissioning typically take 6 to 16 weeks, by system size.
