QuickBooks Integration

What this integration is

Tero Brain is an internal company knowledge base built and operated by Tero Power Inc. This integration connects Tero Brain to the Tero Power QuickBooks Online company file so that directors and authorised finance staff can ask questions about the company accounts and get answers that cite the underlying records.

It is a private application. It is used only against the Tero Power company file, it is not offered to other businesses, and there is no sign-up. Nobody outside Tero Power can connect to it or obtain data through it.

It only ever reads

The integration is read-only. It does not create, edit, void or delete anything in QuickBooks. It cannot issue an invoice, record a payment, or alter the ledger in any way. That restriction is enforced in the software itself and is covered by automated tests that fail the build if the restriction is removed.

What it reads

Invoices, bills, payments, bill payments, customers, vendors, chart of accounts, company information, employees, time activities, and the file names of documents attached to transactions. It requests the QuickBooks accounting scope only. It does not request or use the QuickBooks Payments or Payroll APIs, and it does not read or store any card, bank or other payment credential.

Who can see the data

Accounting data is held in a restricted area of Tero Brain that is readable only by the directors of Tero Power Inc. It is not visible to employees, contractors, customers or any other party, and it is never sold, rented or shared for marketing. The restriction is verified by an automated access test rather than assumed.

Where the data is held

On servers operated by Tero Power Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Credentials are stored server side, encrypted at rest, and are never held in a browser or on a laptop.

How to disconnect

In QuickBooks Online, go to Settings, then Apps, then Manage on this app, then Disconnect. The connection ends immediately and the integration can no longer read anything. To have data already collected removed as well, contact us at the address below.
