Behind-the-Meter Solar — Power for On-Site Consumption

Overview

Not every solar installation feeds energy back to the grid. Behind-the-meter (BTM) and no-export solar systems are designed for on-site self-consumption — generating power that is used directly by the facility without exporting surplus to the utility. Tero Power builds these systems for clients who want to reduce their electricity costs and carbon footprint without the complexity of grid export agreements.

What's Involved

Our Scope of Work

  • 01Solar PV system installation sized to facility load profiles
  • 02Export-limiting inverter configuration and control systems
  • 03On-site consumption monitoring and metering
  • 04Electrical integration with existing building infrastructure
  • 05Compliance with local utility no-export and anti-islanding requirements

Who It's For

Businesses and institutions that want to reduce electricity costs through on-site solar generation without entering into net metering or grid export arrangements. Common for facilities with high daytime electricity loads — manufacturing plants, cold storage, data centres, and large commercial operations.
